Review: Nestle Butterfinger Snackerz

Snackerz.  Isn’t that a snazzy word?  Are you looking for new Halloween candy to give out this year?  Are you looking for a new snack? Are you looking for some piece of sweetness;  part peanut butter and chocolate?  If you are, Butterfinger has a new candy out.

This was my first year attending BlogHer and part of my virgin experience was meeting new people and taste testing new products not out in the market yet.  When I tasted the Butterfinger Snackerz,  I expected it to taste like the original Butterfinger:  rich, sugary,  and creamy.  Now, I love the original Butterfinger.  In fact it was one of my favorite candy as a child.   Now, that I am all grown-up, my taste buds have changed and are more refined.  I am sensitive to really sweet treats and I do not like sugary candy as much anymore, not to mention I am watching what I eat.   What I remembered the most about the original Butterfinger is it made me thirsty and my throat dry.   I always had to get a drink while eating it.   But, it was good.

There is something quite different about the Butterfinger Snackerz.  It’s light, just the right amount of peanut butter taste, crispy, crunchy, not too sugary sweet, and it does not make me thirsty.  The smell is not too overpowering.  I do not like it when the peanut butter smell is so distinct that my purse and breath smells like a peanut butter jar.   The bite size pieces make eating the candy easy and it does not melt in your hands, which is a positive for me since I sit in front of a computer all day.

I would have to write the biggest plus for me about this candy is it has the right amount of pieces;  four in each small bag.  To me, that is a plus since I am watching my calories.  If Nestle can only  find a way to make the Butterfinger Snackerz have no calories…I know I am dreaming.  But, maybe some day.

My kids are obsessed with Butterfingers lately! And with Halloween just around the corner I have a feeling we’ll have plenty of them! Will need to try this soon. 😀
