Yoplait Original Yogurt Review and Giveaway

I had the opportunity to try out a free cup of Yoplait Original Yogurt.  I tried the Blackberry and Pomegranate flavor since I was looking for new flavors other than strawberry or banana, my usual flavors I like for yogurt.  I ate the Yoplait original yogurt before I attended my yoga class. It was after work and I was starving and I did not want to pass out from hunger in my yoga class. I sprinkled some granola on top of the yogurt to give it some consistency and make me more satiated.   And it was delicious.  The flavor of blackberry and pomegranate blended well together and it was not too sweet or too sour.  The flavors were just light and right.

I am not sure if I was just so ravenous but I ate the yogurt very quickly (not my norm).  Normally, yogurt does not fill me up but Yoplait Light yogurt did. It may be the combination of eating the yogurt with the granola (a healthy food option) and practicing yoga ; but I was not hungry at all afterward.  I didn’t even eat dinner. The Yoplait yogurt was enough for my stomach.  Even though I don’t recommend eating  just yogurt for dinner, I usually eat  a big lunch and a small dinner.  I also eat and drink fruit and vegetables 4 or 5 times a day and eat every 2-3 hours.  I’ve trained my stomach to eat less.

As a nurse, I like to give my patients some dietary education to help them get the calcium they need in their diet.  Yoplait has 2 times the amount of calcium; 50% of the Daily value in a 6 ounce cup.  Check out my post about incorporating more calcium in your diet.  I recommend trying the Yoplait original yogurt for breakfast or a snack anytime, not because I liked it but because of the calcium it contains.
