Now your kids can track every jolly step of Santa, and to give it a bit of clout, Norad, (The North American Aerospace Defence Command) has teamed up with google, facebook, and has many free apps available. Why is the North American Aerospace Defense Command involving itself with that jolly old elf you ask? It all started in 1955, when a newspaper published a local ad that directed kids to contact Mr. Claus directly, and even gave a phone number!
In a strange twist of fate, however, the paper printed not the number to Santa, but the number to the Crew Commander on duty at Norad. According to legend, the commander and his team continued to take the calls and played along in an attempt to keep the spirits high, while tracking Santa on their radar. Now, Norad continues spreading the magic and offers a Santa tracker, where your children can track Santa himself, along with his reindeer, and watch him bring joy to the world.
Aside from the ability to see Santa’s current location and his future stops on Google Maps, you can also learn about each city that he visits. Just to make sure that you are readily connected in every way to Santa, mobile access is also supported on your phone’s browser, and you can, of course, track Mr. Claus via Facebook and Twitter over at @noradsanta.
