Moms took over the runway this past weekend at the Stage at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show was co-created by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, executive producer of SWW Creative, and Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein of The Moms. The show featured a collection of top contemporary designers showcasing looks in a wide range of sizes that are affordable and realistic for today’s moms. The fashions highlighted are available for purchase now in stores and online. Designers included Bloomingdales, BungalowLV, Kay Unger, Ramy Brook, Zeus+Dione, Jay Godfrey, Ccandy, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Just Fab, Yosi Samra, Effy and Dirty Librarian Chains.
Empowered Moms Strutting For A Cause
With the theme “Empowering Women, Inspiring Change,” these model moms were strutting for causes they are passionate about.
Entrepreneur, philanthropist, creator and designer of CCandy, Amber Sabathia, wife of the New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia, walked in the show for the PitCCh In Foundation, which helps inner-city youth. Other models included Alexis Stoudemire, wife of the New York Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire; actress Alysia Reiner; Laura Posada, wife of retired New York Yankee Jorge Posada; Katina Taylor, wife of former NFL star Jason Taylor; NBC’s Darlene Rodriguez; and Inside Edition’s Victoria Recaño. Other models included mom bloggers as well as a thirteen year old Claire Lazarus, who strut in honor of her mother who passed away from breast cancer in 2010.
